The Philippine Region in Asia under the registered name of Philippine Airsoft Practical Shooting(PAPS) successfully conducted the IAPS 2009 Steel Plate Shooting International Postal Match Competition last August 15 & 16, 2009 at Pasig City; Metro Manila, Philippines. Seventy six (76) filipino airsoft shooters participated in this international postal match.
During the event, the IAPS SPS rules and guidelines had been strictly implemented by the organizer with six (6) Identified Range Officers who managed & supervised the two (2) days event. Most of the shooters participated in Open and Standard Division with only few joined the Production and Single Stack(1911) event. The corresponding individual and team match score results will be submitted to IAPS before the September 30, 2009 deadline.
Airsoft shooting as sport’s entertainment gaming is quite popular in the Philippines since the early year of 90’s, over a million now are being hooked in this sport gaming regardless of gender and ages, a series of airsoft speedball competitions and close quarter battle (cqb) games are being held monthly in different places in the Philippines including the so called military simulation (milsim) games.
Early this year, the Philippines joined the IAPS initiative with an initial of less than fifty(50) members who introduced the airsoft practical shooting in international level. At present, over a hundred joined the PAPS including IPSC national shooters who enjoyed the just concluded match with minimal expenses incurred through international postal match by IAPS.
On September 19, 2009, the Philippine Region will shoot for 2009 World Ranking in Practical Shooting in the Central District of Metro Manila where PAPS Officers expect over a hundred filipino participants.
